Domicile of UP (or born in UP) + Senior Secondary (50%) + 2-year D.El.Ed / B.El.Ed / B.Ed. Final-year students may apply.

Conducted by Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB). Annual. Application fee ~INR 600 (general).

Sit Paper 1 / Paper 2
Paper 1 (Classes 1–5): 150 MCQs, 150 minutes. Paper 2 (Classes 6–8): same format. Both available; you can sit both.

Pass mark
60% for general (90/150). 55% for SC/ST/OBC. No negative marking.

Use the certificate
UPTET certificate is valid for LIFETIME (since 2021). Required for primary teacher recruitment in UP basic schools (Sahayak Adhyapak via UPBEB).
