Verify eligibility
Either 4-year degree + 36 months project management experience, OR diploma + 60 months. Plus 35 hours of PM education.

Become a PMI member (optional)
PMI membership reduces the exam fee. Annual fee applies but saves money on the exam.

Submit application
Online application on PMI.org. Audit risk — keep your project records ready.

Schedule + pay
Once approved, schedule via Pearson VUE. $405 for members, $555 for non-members.

Take the exam
180 questions, 230 minutes. Predictive, Agile, and Hybrid approaches across People, Process, Business Environment domains.
