Ethnocentrism refers to the tendency to view one's own cultural group as the norm and use its standards to judge other cultures. This often leads to the false assumption that behaviors differing from this norm are abnormal. In contrast, studying multiple cultures equally represents cultural relativism, which actively works against ethnocentric bias.
Determinism is the philosophical belief that all human behavior is dictated by internal or external forces rather than free will. This contrasts directly with the free will perspective, which argues that behavior is freely chosen and self-determined. Determinism does not view behavior as random, but rather as highly predictable and caused.
